Hi Lovelies!
I was heartbroken when I heard the musical genius and pop icon Prince had passed away. All I can say it that now he is singing with the angels. I was in the process of creating some new looks for Spring and decided to create a bold but easy to wear purple look in honor of Prince. Pink and Purple really are my favorite colors (I even painted my apartment these colors!). Varying shades of plum, whether a sweet Lilac or a rich Amethyst are a chic alternative to pinks and corals for Spring. You can create a soft fairy girl look or a modern and bold statement look.
I recently tried some new products that are rich glamorous shades of the color of royalty and I love them all!
Complexion:
I started with a full coverage foundation. I am currently wearing Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer and I set it using my beloved Kat Von D Lock Powder Foundation. I love how it looks, and will share my tips and tricks on my current foundation routine in a future post, coming soon!
Cheeks:
When you see a plum color in a blush it can be little intimidating and you may wonder if you will look like Beyonce or just bruised. I have been on the hunt for a purple toned blush for the spring and The Balm Cosmetics Instain Long Wearing Blush in “Pinstripe” is perfect for a medium to dark skintone. It is a warm plum with just a touch of brown.
I have used lots of products from the Balm and they always deliver when it comes to pigment, texture, and wearability. I applied this with a slanted blush brush towards my temples. When applying blush be sure not to apply too much product on the apple of the cheek. For a natural look blend your blush back.
I recently got a special delivery of the new Luminous Blushes by Becca Cosmetics. Gorgeous shimmery blushes that come in a range of six colors that work for everybody? Yes, life is that wonderful! They can be worn alone or on top of another blush. I will be experimenting with all the colors so be sure to follow me on Instagram for a peek. After I applied Pinstripe, I added the shade Dahlia in the luminous blushes on top!
Lips:
The lips are the crowning glory of this look. The new Melted Matte Liquid Lipsticks from Too Faced are long-wearing, super pigmented, and kiss proof. I am wearing the color Unicorn. The formula has Sunflower Seed oil and Vitamin E so your lips will get a boost of hydration, in addition to a subtle plumping effect from an innovative ingredient called ‘Vollulip’. I lined my lips with Magenta liner by MAC and then filled in my whole mouth with Unicorn. If you happen to be one of my lovelies that likes to keep it simple when it comes to eye makeup, then a rich purple liquid lipstick is an easy way to update your look and experiment with color.
Eyes:
My eyes are simple but glamorous with a classic cat-eye and Huda Beauty lashes in ‘Samantha’.
Leave a comment below and let me know what you think of this look, or if you try any of these products I would love to know how they worked for you.
XOXO,
Lily
