Chasing Fashion: A Night of Design!

Hello Lovelies,

I have been looking forward to sharing this recap from New York Fashion Week because I discovered some amazing designers and I was able to support a very important charity. I had the pleasure of attending a fashion event and benefit for an organization called the Freedom Ladder.  The Freedom Ladder is a global non-profit organization that is dedicated to educating young people on and protecting them from the threat of human trafficking. They work with  law enforcement agencies and child welfare organizations to empower young people on how to protect themselves.  They also use innovative teaching materials in the form of a comic book called ABOLTIONISTA! Please visit their website to learn more about this amazing organization.

The event took place in a beautiful Episcopalian church, The Church of the Holy Apostles in Chelsea.  In addition to the gorgeous clothes coming down the runway I discovered some new designers that were also part of this event.  Here are some of the amazing brands that I fell in love with and that you should check out:

Lauren Chisholm (Jewelry)

Marcelle Love Collection (Luxury Neckwear)

Chinaza Moses (Designer)

Arcana New York (Designer)

The Secret Society of Ex Mermaids.

My name is Lily and I have to confess that I am an ex-mermaid. The Secret Society of Ex-Mermaids is feminine, modern, and a little bit whimsical.

Traditional blogging etiquette would dictate that I should edit this photo. I decided to post the photo below the way it happen to come out.  I love this picture because I feel that it captures the magical and frenetic energy of New York Fashion Week.  A swirl of color and light in the midst of music and people.
