Hello Lovelies,
Some people have a plethora of products in their bathroom and some people like to keep their routine to a minimum with only a few favorites. No matter where you fall on this spectrum you probably have some makeup removing wipes in your bathroom or by your bed. Every drugstore brand, as well as several high-end speciality brands, makes a makeup removing wipe. They are easy to use, convenient for travel, formulated for all skin types, and work fast. Before I go any further, I must remind you that makeup removing wipes are absolutely not a replacement for thorough cleansing twice a day. This type of product is great for removing face and eye makeup instantly but it should be used in with a facial cleanser. A “wipe” can’t do everything. I have tried a few brands of wipes that I really like but I decided to pick two options that are usually in my bathroom and worked well for me.
1. Ole Henriksen The Clean Truth Cleansing Cloths (Brightening) $15
I have been using the Ole wipes for two years. They contain serious ingredients: Vitamin C, CoQ10, and Black Currant Oll. This trio helps to brighten the skin and hydrate. I have used these around my eyes very gently. One wipe took off my face and took off my waterproof gel eyeliner by Tarte. I also use these wipes on my neck and décolleté. I always travel with them and I keep them with my yoga bag so I can quickly freshen up after class. I recommend these for a normal to combination skin type. The cloth itself feels so soft, and they are excellent for an instant cleanse and makeup removal. Ole also makes wipes for a dry skin type called Nurture Me, and wipes for a combination/oily skin type called Grease Relief which help to exfoliate and contains lactic and glycolic acid. On your next trip to Sephora, I suggest adding these wipes to your basket.
2. Olay Fresh Effects Everything Off Deluxe Make-Up Removal Wet Cloths.
I picked these up during one my weekly trips to CVS. They contain Honeysuckle and White Tea. Honeysuckle is anti-inflammatory so it’s great for sensitive skin, White Tea provides antioxidants, and this product is non-comedogenic. They smell fresh and clean. What I liked most about these wipes was the fact that they actually removed my Givenchy mascara very well. If you are looking for a drugstore brand wipe that works well I suggest these. I can’t recall specifically how much I paid for the Olay Fresh Effects wipes, but I believe it was less than ten dollars.
Not all wipes are created equal. If you want more advanced skincare benefits I recommend buying the Ole Henriksen Wipes. If you want something that is quick and gently that you can easily pick up anytime, then I recommend the Olay Fresh Effects Wipes.
