Hello Lovelies
Here is the long overdue third installment documenting my travels in Amsterdam. Going to Holland was definitely the highlight of 2014 for me. Whenever I travel I always pre-plan my itinerary so I can maximize my time in whatever country my heart calls me to visit. I reserved one day of my trip specifically for shopping in Amsterdam. I was really inspired by Dutch Style. The style of Amsterdam is chic, sophisticated, and grown-up; a creative and modern execution with classic influences. Amsterdam’s popular shopping district is known as the Little Nine Streets. It is a short walk from the Anne Frank house.

Shopping in Europe is always mind-blowing fun for me because I discover new brands and I gain a broader perspective of style. I consulted the map in my guidebook and found many gorgeous boutiques with very happy sales associates. I fell in love immediately with Who’s That Girl! This boutique has amazing 1960s-inspired clothes with retro-prints and an amazing fit. I tried on five dress and a skirt. I left with three dresses and a coffee mug that looked like it would be in the background of an episode of MadMen. As a makeup artist the 1950s and 1960s are my greatest source of inspiration. I love the feminine silhouettes with warm happy colors. Life is too short to always wear black pants. Just wear dresses.

These are the three dresses I finally ended up buying. I love wearing cool prints. It was October when I bought them so I knew they could easily transition into winter/spring of 2015. My favorite way to wear them is with opaque tights and knee-high boots. Another way to wear to rock them is with black leggings and ballet flats.
After having a fabulous time at this gem of a store I started exploring again. I was walking and noticed a store with little samples right outside the door. Whatever I tried smelled amazing so I went inside the shop. It was a gorgeous fall day when I found the lovely boutique of Marie-Stella Maris. This is an Amsterdam-based brand that makes delicious skincare, haircare, and bodycare products.
One of the many benefits of traveling is meeting new people and making new friends. My lovely sales associate Naomi, pictured above, was so much fun! We talked about me visiting from New York, our mutual love of art, and how much I adored Holland. I purchased some delicious soaps and a rose-scented hand cream. If you are ever in Amsterdam please stop by this store for an unforgettable sensory experience. Their products use organic ingredients such as coconut oil, geranium, lavender, sweet almond oil, and lemon grass. Everything in that sentence is heaven to me.

Great fashion and great products should always be part of every travel experience. Visiting another country and exploring a new culture is a priceless education.
