Everything you have always wanted to know about Micellar Water But Were Afraid to Ask!

Hello My Lovelies,

Yes I missed you very much.

It’s time to put down your makeup wipes and pause for one moment to hear about the newest addition to your skincare arsenal. It is a product that is perfect for summer whether it’s in your gym bag, your carry on, or your makeup bag. Micellar water has quickly become one of my favorite products for the current season and beyond. It has allowed me to up my skincare game to a triple cleanse every night.

So, What is Micellar Water?

Micellar Water is a facial cleansing product that has tiny molecules called “Micelles”. Catchy name right? Micelles are special because they are molecules that attract dirt and excess oil, and eat up all the unwanted debris on your skin and help to remove makeup, but without dehydrating the skin to an uncomfortable level. Micellar Water can work for all skin types, including combination to very oily, and is a quick and easy way to freshen up the skin while removing makeup in a pinch.

My Current Favorite!

I have tried a few micellar water products before writing this post and so far the one that has agreed with my skin the most and has been repurchased and is happily living rent free in my bathroom, is the Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water for oily skin. My skin is normally dry but with the change in season I have started to adjust my product purchases. This product became step one in my triple cleanse routine. Yes, that’s right, I now triple cleanse my face at night.

I triple cleanse by first removing surface dirt and sweat with the micellar water using a cotton pad, then use a cleansing oil to completely remove my makeup, and then I finish off with a Salicylic Acid based cleanser to deep clean my pores and prevent pesky whiteheads. I also love to use it at the gym before and after I workout.

I have also started using micellar water to clean my false lashes! It softens the glue and takes off makeup on the strip without damaging the lashes. I remove my lashes and soak them in a tiny amount of micellar water for a few minutes, gently dry them between two cotton pads, and then slowly remove the glue from the strip. Easy!

Stay tuned for my summer skincare tips. If you have dry skin like me and are noticing your skin becoming more dry or more oily due to the hotter temperatures, leave a skincare question below for me or on my Instagram (@sagebeautyblog) and it may be in a future post in the month of July!

XOXOX
