Lately I have been getting a lot of questions about brushes. I have three brushes that I use daily that are my favorites and they should definitely be in your makeup bag.
The Vintage Cosmetic Company Fantail Brush
Fantail brushes are great for applying products very precisely, such as highlighters. They are not as thick as other complexion brushes such as powder brushes or bronzers brushes because they are designed to pick up less product and for applying products in smaller areas of the face. Fantail brushes are also great for blending out harsh edges on the cheeks so your blush looks more natural. Fantail brushes are usually made of natural hair.
Tarte Cosmetics ‘The Slenderizer Bamboo Contour Brush’
When I saw this brush in Sephora, I can honestly say it was love at first sight. This brush makes contouring and sculpting the face quick and easy. The bristles are a blend made of sustainably harvested bamboo and super soft synthetic bristles. I have had my brush for a few months and I wash it weekly. I have not any shedding and it is still as soft as it was the first time I used it. I use the compact smaller end to apply and blend my contour color in the hollow of cheek, across my forehead, and on the sides of my nose. The larger slanted end is very versatile, and you can apply powder or blush with it. If you try to use it to apply a highlighting product I suggest using the only the slanted edge so as not to use too much product.
Sephora Collection Pro Smoky Liner #24 Brush
I used this brush to create a few different eye looks. First and foremost I use it create a deep smokey/smudgy look for my eyes with my favorite black cream liner, Aqua Black by Makeup Forever. I also love to use it to create a thick, dramatic cat-eye.
