Chasing Fashion: New Year’s Eve Glam!

“Dressing is a way of life”

Yves Saint Laurent

Hello Lovelies,

It’s almost time to say goodbye to 2015,  and welcome 2016 with glitter, good wishes, and champagne.  New Year’s Eve is definitely one my favorite night of the year because it’s the perfect time to put together a look that is super-glam, glittery, sexy, and fun.   I had so much fun putting this look together because it involves three easy elements: a little black dress, faux fur, and sequins.

Let’s start with the dress:

My dress was a pre-Christmas find at Express. Express has great party dresses that you can dress up or dress down depending on the occasion, and they always have great sales and promotions throughout the year.  I did not wear tights with dress because we have been having unusually mild weather in New York this month.  If the temperature drops I would suggest adding nude hosiery. Donna Karen has some great options for fair to medium skintones, and check out Nubian Skin for “nude” lingerie for women of deep to dark skintones.

Baby, it’s only a little cold outside

My jacket was a great find from Forever 21.   I picked up this soft gray faux fur piece and knew it would be perfect.  This jacket would also look great with jeans and over-the-knee boots.  I also wore it to work with my black DVF mini dress and leggings.  The possibilities are endless.

And can we talk about the shoes

I call these shoes Cinderella’s other pair.  New Year’s Eve is not complete without a touch of sequins.  These shoes are the perfect way to bling out your black dress. I would also pair these shoes with a tulle skirt and a white crop top. If you are wearing a statement accessory like these shoes I suggest keeping the rest of your outfit streamlined, and your jewelry simple. I added some pink studs for a little touch of color.
