Roses in December: My Late Fall/Winter Fragrance

Hi Lovelies!

I have never really written much about fragrance on Sage Beauty but it is one of my favorite accessories. I wear mostly Oriental fragrances and Floral fragrances. My favorite notes are vanilla, sandalwood, rose, gardenia, and frankincense. Often when someone hears the word “rose” they assume it will be too overpowering or matronly. In the right blend, a rose based scent can evoke a modern and feminine aura. My three favorite rose perfumes are romantic and girly with a modern wearable twist. This is not your Grandma’s rose fragrance.

1. Roses De Chloe by Chloe

I have worn the original Chloe and it’s still in my fragrance basket. I love this fragrance because it is elegant and subtle, and great for daytime or a night out.

Fresh Cut Roses, Bergamot, Rose Essence, Magnolia Accord, White Musk, Amber.

2. Red Roses by Jo Malone

I love this fragrance so much I also had to get the candle in the same scent! Red Roses is made of a blend of seven types of rose, crushed violet leaves, and a touch of lemon and spearmint. The citrus notes help balance the fragrance and give it a youthful and fresh tone.

3. Rose Absolue by Annick Goutal

Whenever someone asks me what I wear for fragrance the first thing I say is “Annick Goutal”. I love her fragrances because they are bold, sensual, and sophisticated. They tell stories and create memories. Last year I was wearing Vanilla Absolue. I had to go to three different department stores to find this fragrance. This fragrance reminds me of a soft cashmere sweater on a chilly day. Rose Absolue is made of six kinds of roses, including Turkish Rose, Bulgarian Rose, and Damask Rose.
