Hello Lovelies,
I knew my bathroom needed a major organizational intervention when I could not turn around without knocking over a palette or some random hair products just started falling into my sink because I sneezed. Getting ready in the morning was stressful because I was spending more time looking for my eyeshadows that actually applying them. I decided to invest in a CosmoCube organizer. I discovered this brand on Instagram and shortly after that it became available on sephora.com. CosmoCube is designed for beauty professionals, but I think if you are short on space and want to eliminate clutter then it is a must-have investment purchase. Sephora.com only carries the Cosmocube Posh Organizer and the Brush Holder. If you go to cosmocube.com you will find the full range of size options for storing makeup, nail polishes, and makeup artist tools. Please keep in mind these organizers also be used for art supplies, jewelry, keepsakes, office supplies, or anything else you need to keep in order.
Here is a picture of my Cosmo Cube before I packed it. This size is $185 dollars. I know that you might be wondering why a makeup organizer is so “expensive”. Most acrylic makeup organizers break very easily and aren’t big enough for all my products. If I added up all the money I have spent on makeup organizers that were cheaper and didn’t last six months I could probably buy three Cosmo Cubes. I think it’s best to invest in a great product that is going to last for a significant length of time and get the job done so you really get your money’s worth. I must also point out the size. This organizer holds even more than I thought it would, and the fact that I can store my nail polishes too is pure joy. Getting ready is now a streamlined, efficient process.
The bottom drawer is filed with my palettes, the next drawer up is filled with foundations and blushes, the drawer above that is filled with eyeshadows, and the top drawer is filled with lip and eye pencils. Organizing all my makeup was also a chance for me to spring clean my collection.
Here are some quick tips for cleaning out your makeup collection:
- If you haven’t worn it in the past three months, toss it.
- Change your mascara every two to three months.
- If your foundations or liquid products smell weird or look separated toss them.
- If you can see the pan, it’s time to get a new one.
- Check your products for expiration dates and see when exactly to replace and replenish.
xoxo

So helpful! I similarly struggle with hoarding makeup my Manhattan bathroom! 🙂
What a great post! My bathroom is so unbeliveably tiny I don’t know how I fit ANYTHING in there! I recently started using a vanity in my bedroom and although I barely use makeup (except lipstick) I started housing my makeup in something similar to what you suggested … what a game changer!!! Love your tip about checking the exp dates, I totally don’t do that and that’s really bad but now I’ll start 🙂
I’m so glad you enjoyed the post! thank you for visiting my blog. Peace and Love 🙂
