Hello Lovelies,
I love using natural oils as beauty products. I always have coconut oil, argan oil, and olive oil in my house because they do wonders for my hair, skin, and nails. I recently discovered a new oil that has given me great results with only a few uses and is now always stocked in my kitchen. And since I live in New York City, kitchen space is at a premium.
I have seen Macadamia Nut Oil in many awesome products, so I decided to try it out in a pure form I picked up at an organic supermarket in my neighborhood. It’s filled with heart healthy Omega-3 and Omega-6. Because it contains essential fatty acids it’s also great to have in your diet. Before I go any further, let me remind you: If you have a nut allergy of ANY kind, please talk to your doctor first before using it.
It is a very rich oil but absorbs quickly. I used a tiny amount on my legs and it helped with that dreaded itchy winter skin that is so uncomfortable. I measure it out by the capful because sometimes I am somewhat heavy-handed with products when I really like them. I started using it on my hair as a deep conditioning treatment. I take two capfuls, apply to my hair at bedtime, and then washed it out the next morning. It made my hair Victoria-Secret-Model soft and shiny, and I snagged many compliments on how my hair looked that day. I also noticed that it help to minimize breakage as well. Another fun way to use it is to add a few drops of it to your leave-in condition for added hydration and heat protection before you blowdry.
I recommend this oil if you have a normal to thick hair texture, dry hair, color-treated hair, thick to coarse hair, very curly hair (which is usually naturally dry), or if you heat style on a daily basis. If you have a fine or thin hair texture, but color-treated, use it from your ears to the ends of your hair. Otherwise it may feel too heavy on your hair.
Stay in touch and let me know how it works for you.
