Hello Lovelies,
After checking two different MAC stores in Manhattan I was able to get my hands on the limited edition eye shadow palette from the Cinderella MAC collection. The movie, staring Kate Blanchett, will be in theaters on March 13th. I’m so excited to see it!!! The collection creates a beautiful and feminine look that is wearable day or night. Whenever a new MAC makeup collection comes out my first thought is pure joy because I can add another jewel to my extensive makeup collection, and my second thought is how I can incorporate these new goodie into my regular rotation of makeup.
When I got a first glimpse of the collection a few days ago online, I knew that the palette was a must-have. The full collection consists of two lipsticks and a lip gloss in gorgeous shimmery pinky-nudes, the eyeshadow palette, a beauty powder, an iridescent complexion powder, two new shades of eye glosses, a Cinderella loose pigment, a loose Cinderella glitter, two shades of fluidline liner, and a mascara. The collection was totally sold out within one day at my nearest MAC store. I got lucky with the second MAC store location I tried and they did have a few of the palette left in stock. As I write this post, the collection is sold out online as well. If you don’t live near a MAC store, try your nearest Macy’s or Bloomingdales MAC counter.
The palette is appropriately named “Stroke of Midnight”, and has six shades that will work on almost all skintones.
Here is my step-by-step guide for how I created my Cinderella look with my new palette:
Step 1: Smooth your favorite eye shadow primer all over your lid and up to your brows.
Step 2: Start with the medium shadow, Omega, and blend that into your crease.
Step 3: Blend the shade Quarry into the crease for more definition and lightly sweep it on the bottom lashline.
Step 4: Gently pat the shimmery vanilla shade, Phloof, onto the lid.
Step 5: On the outer-v apply Satin Taupe.
Step 6: Using a liner brush, create a soft cat-eye with the darkest shade, Stroke of Midnight. After step 6, I took a clean blending brush and gently blended out my shadow to eliminate any harsh lines. I then used the lightest shade, Vapour, as a highlighter right under my brow. In order to increase the princess factor I lined my water line with a purple gel liner. This is a great trick for my readers who have brown, green, or hazel eyes to make the eyes pop. If you have blue eyes, try a soft gray liner on the bottom lashline. Apply your favorite mascara, or if you want a more dramatic look you can add your favorite false lashes. For my lips, I used MAC Pro Longwear Lipliner in Nice n’ Spicy and lipstick in By Design. By Design is a frosty nude that goes with everything.
I am absolutely in love with these colors and I hope you will be able to find them in store. If you can’t find this palette in store then I would to see how you could recreate the look with some of your favorite colors at home and tag me on Instagram/Twitter (a sagebeautyblog).
Or you can send me a Snapchat!! (sagebeautyblog)
