Now that I have conquered the flu I can resume my weekly blogger duties! I’m so excited to share my beauty adventures with all my lovelies. This past Friday I had the pleasure of spending my morning at the Birchbox offices in New York City discovering an amazing brand called LAQA&CO. and their Spring 2014 creations. The brand is the brain-child of two beauty-loving best friends, Nicole and Georgina, who were looking for cosmetics that were fun, creative, and sophisticated with a grownup sensibility. So they created LAQA&CO. The name comes from the word “lacquer”; they started the brand with nail polish pens and expanded the line to include jumbo lip pencils. Even the packaging is innovative and creative. All of the packaging is from artists found all over the world, and every month a different artist is featured. The original packaging shows how LAQA&CO as a brand encourages personal expression through color and is able to give back by supporting up and coming artists from Brooklyn to Moscow to London.
The double ended nail polish pen with a fresh springtime pink on one end and gold glitter on the other is my newest nail obsession.
During the breakfast all the visiting bloggers had a chance to get a customized lip look. Of course I choose the Glitter Lip look and I love the way it came out. The bright punchy lip color went well with my green smokey eye and I’m inspired to try more glitter on the lips this holiday season. I am firm believer that glitter is appropriate for every occasion and life is too short not to be sparkly.
The two gorgeous colors in the picture above were in my gold goodie bag. The pink polish in Legit is a cool everyday pink that works all year round. The mini jumbo lip pencil, which did not have a name on it, is a bright fuchsia color. They don’t need to be sharpened and there is a generous amount of product. The lip pencils are packed with pigment and an amazingly soft creamy texture. They glide on easily and wear very well even when I eat or drink. I wear it alone or sometimes I pair it with a lipstick for a more intense look. At the moment they have holiday gift sets that are absolutely adorable.
