Complexion Perfection: CoverFX CC Cream

I am a devoted foundation wearer. I wear foundation everyday all year round.  I love medium to full coverage products, liquid or cream to powder formulas, and radiant or satin finishes. I have always felt that if a brand can do complexion products well then they will probably do everything else well. I was planning on replenishing my current foundation, but decided to try out a CC cream.  Clinique, Smashbox, CoverFx, and even some drugstore brands have come out with CC creams recently. My clients often ask me if they should switch to a CC cream product and stop wearing their current foundation. I tell them all the same thing; it depends on how much you want to cover and what type of look you are trying to achieve. The second question my clients ask me is what exactly a CC Cream is.  Every CC cream has it’s own unique benefits.

A CC cream is a multitasking product that provides sun protection, corrects and mask surface imperfections, can sometimes be used as a primer, controls oil,  can be used alone or underneath foundation,  imparts hydration, and has varying levels of coverage. CC creams are also a good option for people who don’t want to wear a foundation but want more coverage than a tinted moisturizer can provide. I think of CC creams as hybrid complexion products that satisfy the need for light natural looking coverage with some skincare benefits. In the photo above, I am wearing Cover FX CC Cream with SPF 30 in N X-Deep and I filled in my brows with Anastasia brow pencil in dark brown.  I took this picture before I set it with my Too Faced Primed and Poreless Powder so my readers would get a good impression of the finish. I have to say that I absolutely love this product. I loved the level of coverage, my skin glowed , and the texture was smooth and lightweight. I applied it with a damp beauty blender sponge. It covered my freckles well and after setting it with powder it wore very well throughout the day. It was a very natural look for me and I like the idea of having a foundation alternative when I want to do a softer look with just mascara and lipstick.  I highly recommend this fabulous CC cream if you are looking for something that will do the job of foundation but feels as if you are wearing nothing and you simply wake up looking naturally perfect.  Cover Fx CC cream is $45 dollars and comes in nine shades.
