Recently I started putting together a Pinterest inspiration board with some of my favorite women with great style. One of my favorite style influencers at the moment is the lovey Mrs. Amal Clooney.

Amal Clooney (née Alamuddin) is a lawyer, political activist, and an author. She is a perfect balance of brains and beauty. Amal shows us that a beautiful woman in her mid-30s can be intelligent and accomplished, and an intelligent and accomplished woman can be beautiful. I love that she is a realistic modern woman but traditional enough to take her husband’s name. Just a fun fact…..I recently found out that Amal and George got engaged on my birthday in 2014.

Here is a breakdown of her sophisticated, modern, chic style. It’s easy to recreate her look with few simple steps.

Step 1: Work with a classic color palette and add splashes of color.

Amal wears feminine neutrals for work and adds color with a gorgeous bag and printed heels.

Step 2: Yes, you can wear a skirt above the knee after the age of 35.

Because I’m in my thirties I love the fact that Amal keeps a youthful edge to her look, but is still very age appropriate. If you are spending money on Soul Cycle, be sure that you show it off.

If you work in a formal or corporate setting a well tailored suit is a necessary investment. This is a wardrobe staple that requires a little extra expense but is worth every stitch, and adds to your professional demeanor.

Of course she is naturally gorgeous, but she enhances her beauty with perfected arches, flawless foundation that a luminous but natural look, a warm blush, and a pinky-coral lip. Her eyes are defined with loads of lashes but very soft shadow.
