Hello Readers!
This post is all about my favorite new products for the month of September. As summer is starting to fade and we enter the season of pumpkin spice lattes and hoodies, it is a great time to update your makeup wardrobe with some new amazing products. And here we go!!!!!
1. Nars Radiant Cream Compact Foundation.
Once again Nars has created another product I can’t live without. The new foundation comes in twenty shades. The sleek black compact has a mirror large enough to do a full face on the train and the refills for the foundation are easy to pop in and out of the compact. The product is applied with the sponge that comes with each refill or a foundation brush. My favorite way to apply this product is with a Beauty Blender sponge lightly dampened with Urban Decay All-Nighter Setting spray and gently pressed into the skin. It has a radiant finish and I rarely have to touch-up during the day with this foundation. You can find it at Sephora stores or sephora.com
2. Mystic Metallic Palette by Christian Dior
As soon as I saw this palette it was love at first sight. This limited-edition compact of romantic teal, warm luminous neutrals, and
ethereal greens is a sophisticated look for fall that can easily transition from day to night. An extra special touch that makes this palette a true luxury is that four of the five shadows are embossed with stars. The great designer, Christian Dior, loved stars so I think of this gorgeous design as an homage to the legend himself.
3. Alterna Kendi Dry Oil Micromist
I became a fan of this paraben free and sulfate free hair care line when I sampled a few drops of the Kendi Pure Treatment Oil. The pure oil treatment gives intense repair and nourishment. The Dry Oil Micromist is a lighter version of their Kendi Dry Oil Mist. It is for all hair types but if you have fine hair you will love it! I have thick hair but I prefer my finishing products to be lightweight in order to minimize product build-up in my hair. It gives amazing shine with a fresh scent and hair strengthening ingredients. It can be used on dry or damp hair. I lightly spray all over my dry hair after I have applied a light-hold hairspray.
4. Urban Decay Anti-Aging Primer Potion
I can’t remember the last time I used a shadow primer that was not from Urban Decay. When I stopped by Sephora to replenish my usual products, I noticed this new addition to their family of primers. This new formula helps to reduce the appearance of lines and helps to brighten the eye area. It has a smoother texture than the original formula. It also works well on my brows (when used sparingly) to help my brow pencil last longer. I have noticed that my eyelids are less discolored and as always my shadow lasts well into the night with absolutely no creasing.
5. Urban Decay Naked Skin Ultra Definition Pressed Finishing Powder
I have a very strict anti-pressed powder policy. I have combination skin and I prefer to have a glowy, healthy look to my skin so I usually set my makeup with a light dusting of translucent powder or a setting spray. I decided to try this product because I wanted to finally find a powder I could travel with that would not be too heavy with a soft finish. I was completely surprised by how well this product fit my needs. I use it to set my foundation, and I use it alone when I don’t feel like wearing a lot of foundation. Honestly I always feel like wearing foundation but if you have days when you want a quick look this product is fine on its own. The powder is oil-free, gives a lovely finish, eliminates shine, and has a silky texture. I must also mention that each compact comes in a floral purple drawstring pouch. Fabulous! The shades of powder correspond to the Naked Skin Liquid Makeup. For example, I wear foundation shade number eleven so my powder shade is Naked Dark. If you wear foundation shade number 2, your powder shade is Medium Light.
